The whole new design includes innovations such as brighter screens for HDR work, tally indicator, 4 built in scopes, enhanced focus assist features, 3D LUTs and native Blackmagic RAW recording from supported cameras. With 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0.
The brighter touch screen ensures a perfect view of your recording for HDR digital film and when shooting outdoors in sunlight. The new design also features upgraded batteries and supports two standard Sony L‑Series batteries.
The Blackmagic Video Assist 7" 12G model is the only one with two slots for support so you can keep record endlessly.
The Video Assist 7" model includes two XLR analog audio inputs with phantom power that support a 192 kHz high definition audio sampling rate at 16 and 24 uncompressed bits per sample.
It is ideal for recording from cameras, and even for playing clips. As all files are compatible with HyperDeck disc recorders, you can use the Video Assist as a broadcast field recorder, or portable broadcast scope. Video Assist is a fantastic broadcast solution, as it offers HDMI and 12G-SDI inputs as well as 3D LUTs and integrated scopes.
It features an innovative touchscreen user interface with recorder controls and a large screen to view your recording.
It includes 12G-SDI connectivity for Ultra HD high frame rate, analog inputs for audio, USB-C port for recording to external disk, speaker on front panel and headphone jack on side. You also have two battery slots on the back that are compatible with Sony L Series batteries, to power bright HDR displays and advanced Ultra HD electronics. Thanks to these two slots, you can change the battery without interrupting the recording.
In addition, a 12V universal power supply is included for studio or field use.
The innovative touchscreen LCD display gives you incredible control. You have playback, stop and record buttons, as well as a mini timeline to navigate through your recordings.
You can even scan the screen to search for images one by one.
The display shows the timecode, video standard, recording media status and audio indicators. You can activate the scopes, as well as the focus and exposure aid by touching the screen. The LCD menus also offer many other parameters and commands. In addition, it is possible to load and save 3D LUTs.
You'll be ready for HDR workflows with support for the latest HDR standards and an extremely bright display with a wide range of colors. In addition, the very bright screen makes outdoor shooting in the sun possible.
The integrated scopes can even be changed to HDR scopes when working with HDR formats. Files are identified with the appropriate HDR information, and the SDI and HDMI inputs automatically detect HDR video standards. The static metadata formats PQ and HLG are processed according to ST2084. Since the bright LCD display offers a wide range of colors, it can support the colorimetric spaces Rec. 2020 and Rec. 709. The gamut of the Video Assist screen can even fully support the DCI-P3 format.
12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 advanced.
The USB-C connection allows you to connect flash disks or disk arrays for long recording times. As you record on discs, you can edit directly from the disc after shooting, which saves you from copying files. The Video Assist even includes a 12V DC power supply with a secure power connector. It integrates professional audio for modern cameras or other external audio equipment.
