Caruba ET-83II Wit
The Caruba ET-83II Wit is a lens hood in white. It fits the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM lens. A lens hood shields the lens from light coming in from the side, which leaves you with less flare and less colour cast across the image.

Highlights

• Lens hood model ET-83II
• For the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM lens
• Colour: white
• Reduces flare and colour cast
• Protects the front element against knocks and rain
• Weighs 100 grams

How it works
Light that strikes the front element at an angle from outside the frame bounces around inside the lens. You see that as a pale haze over the photo or as coloured patches. The hood extends in front of the glass and stops that light before it gets in.

Colour
This version is white. That matches the white telephoto lenses from Canon, so hood and lens stay one piece. White also reflects more sunlight than black, which keeps the hood cooler in full sun.

Protection
The rim of the hood sits ahead of the glass. If the camera tips over or you knock into something, the hood meets the table or the door frame instead of your front element. In rain it also keeps the first drops off the glass.

Compatibility
The hood is made for the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM lens. Check the manual of your lens for the matching hood model, because the fitting differs from lens to lens.
